Bosnia and Herzegovina is making a come-back with tourists after a ten-year absence, a flight comparison website Skyscanner.net has said.
"Outdoor enthusiasts will love the hiking, biking and kayaking in the Sutjeska national park and skiers and snowboarders can take advantage of Bosnia's ski resorts" writes Skyscanner.com.
Sutjeska was the site of a World War II battle where the Germans were defeated and it is also home to the country's highest summit - Mount Maglic.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina has just as much on offer as any western European holiday destination, and at a far lower cost”, adds the website.
Skyscanner.net recommends travelling to Sarajevo for the Sarajevo Film Festival held in August and visiting Mostar and the coastline bordering the Adriatic Sea.
Holidaymakers headed to the Balkans should take time to explore "this fascinating and rewarding country and giving it the attention it deserves" advises the site.
