B&H Airlines announced in a press release the suspension of services to Vienna and Frankfurt. This will leave the national carrier of Bosnia and Herzegovina with only six routes – Amsterdam Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Istanbul, Stockholm and Zurich.
The airline said that Vienna and Frankfurt routes were no longer profitable as both have seen decreased number of passengers. Services to Vienna ceased immediately while the flights on a route Sarajevo – Frankfurt will operate until May 23 rd. All passengers who have booked tickets on these flights will get refunds or, if they wish, transferred onto other flights.
Austrian Airlines is now the sole airline operating Sarajevo – Vienna route. Passengers travelling from Sarajevo to Frankfurt will have to look for connecting flights as there are no longer direct flights from Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital to German city.
