Slovene company Hosting SEE signed a 500 million EUR worth contract last week with the officials of Trebinje municipality, for building a major tourist complex. The Trebinje Resort will consist of villas, hotels, apartments, horticultural parks, a casino, concert halls, and other facilities. The Trebinje municipality will donate the land, and get 15 per cent ownership.
There will be 6,000 beds in the complex that will give jobs to 2,000 people. Since there are plans for a local airport as well, Slovene investors count of making a lot of profit. Since Trebinje is only 15 kilometres from Dubrovnik, the question is how this competition would reflect on the Croatian resort.
