Considering the speed of the development of its tourism, Bosnia and Herzegovina has fallen from the third to the 76th place on the list of the World Tourism Organization. The World Tourism Organization, whose list includes 176 countries, concluded that the tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina develops with an index of 5.4 per cent per year and not 10.4 per cent as it was anticipated before.

Secretary for tourism at the Chamber of Economy, Goran Brckalovic, confirms that the infrastructure is bad and claims that the development of tourism in the whole region is what pushes the tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina forward. In the country in which, according to the data of Chamber of Economy, there are only two five star hotels, there is no strategy for the development of tourism which would suit the European standards
