Real estate is one of the main professions taken up by well-to-do citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and numerous foreigners. Construction, purchase, sale and renting of real estate account for more than KM 3 billion of income a year.

The data for the 2006 GDP is still awaited, but an increase is expected in comparison to 2005, when the investment in real estate amounted to KM 2.44 billion, and the profit to KM 1.56 billion. This year, the profit is expected to reach KM 2 billion, and the total turnover KM 3 billion. The majority of the real estate developments are built in Sarajevo .
