The Management Board of the European Cyclist Federation (ECF, www.ecf.com) yesterday approved the initiative to include Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EuroVelo project (www.ecf.com/14_1).
EuroVelo, the European cycle route network, is a project of the European Cyclists' Federation to develop 12 long-distance cycle routes crossing the whole continent of Europe. The total length of these routes is over 65,000 km, of which more than 30,000 km is in place.
The aim of the project is to promote cycling as part of responsible tourism, as well as to promote the use of bicycles in commuting. At the moment, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria are the only two countries not included in the project.
