EBRD credits construction of Corridor Vc highway through B&H

03.01.2008

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) allocated loan of EUR 180 million for construction of highway along Corridor Vc through Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The same amount is expected to be approved by the European Investment Bank (EIB), confirmed Nail Seckanovic, Federal Minister of Transport and Communications.
The EBRD officially confirmed the allocation of loan for construction of two sections of the future highway: 15.2km section connecting Sarajevo and Zenica and second section starting south of Mostar and ending at the border with Croatia.

Seckanovic explained that EUR 120 million will be spent on the first section and the rest on the second section. Contracts should be signed in August and at the beginning of next year as necessary construction projects for the south section are not completed yet. Minister Seckanovic announced that the Federal authorities intend to finance the main construction project for tourist port in Neum with EUR 750,000.
