Around 500.000 tourists are expected to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina during the forthcoming winter season according to B&H Tourism Association.
|
Most of the visitors will be from abroad. According to local tourist activists, it would be the most successful winter season since the end of the war. |
The most attractive destinations for the visitors are the skiing terrains on the mountains Jahorina, Kupres, Bjelasnica, Blidinje, Vlasic and Igman. |
All facilities together offer around 10.000 beds, more than 50 kilometres of the ski terrains and 20 ski lifts which can provide service for more than 20.000 skiers per hour. In the middle of the season prices in the best hotels are from 65 EUR on Vlasic, 35 EUR in hotel Adria Ski on Kupres, to 48 EUR a day in hotel Marsal on Bjelasnica. |
The winter tourism sector offers many investment possibilities for foreign companies and investors. The country, host to the 1984 Winter Olympics, is a great ski holiday destination for all ages and offers dozens of perks - first rate slopes, breathtaking surroundings, inexpensive accommodation, a great mix of local skiers and international tourists. The slopes cater to all levels of skiers, and resorts offer all the facilities including ski and snowboard rentals, ski shops and excellent restaurants offering various types of food. The season runs from December to April, with the high season from January to mid-February. |
The Bosnia and Herzegovina tourism sector is showing a yearly growth rate of up to 15%. |
