The London World Travel Market 2007 Best Stand Awards were awarded today, celebrating the very best in stand design, features and personnel; the best stands at doing business and interacting with travel agents; and the most innovative stand in the Technology and Online Travel sector.
|
Best Stand Feature Award went to Bosnia and Herzegovina Tourism Association, stand number EM375, for its two interactive ‘gerbil tread wheels', enabling visitors to look at the sights whilst listening to a commentary on headphones. For the Judges these stood out as the ‘most unusual and innovative feature' at the event. The wheels' images also reflected key tourist activities being promoted in the region, creating an impact through capturing cultural characteristics.

| This is the first attendance of Bosnia and Herzegovina Tourism Association at the WTM in London. Culture, nature and historical attractions will be top of the list for the B&H delegation keen to promote the country as Europe 's 'hidden secret'. |
| The country will also be highlighting Sarajevo and Mostar as city break destinations, the wine-producing region of Herzegovina and the primeval forests of the Sutjeska National Park. |
| Adventure sports such as hiking, skiing and white-water rafting are also featuring highly on the stand. This is also an opportunity to promote the country as a host to the World Rafting Championship in 2009. |
British travel agencies Exodus and Regent Holidays already offer various tours to the country and will extend their programme for the next year. New agencies to offer holidays and breaks in Bosnia and Herzegovina include Sunshine World Bosnia and Saga Holidays. |
