Vienna Days, the event which has been celebrated by the city of Vienna over a decade throughout world's capital cities and the region, will take place in Sarajevo for the second time in ten years. From 25th April to 10th June 2007, the people of Sarajevo have the opportunity to get to know classical and modern Viennese culture through exhibitions, concerts, literary evenings and music performances. “Viennese Ball” introducing classic music and waltz will open the event. Highlights include performances by the Johann Strauss Orchestra together with soprano Donna Ellen and baritone Peter Edelmann.

Atelier Sarajevo , a project of Austrian initiative for Eastern Europe, holds “masked balls for children” at the children's studio at the Academy of Fine Arts from 7 to 12 May. A jazz concert by the Klaus Paier Trio takes place on 9 May. Literature also receives due attention at the Vienna Days.

The author Walter Famler and the Bosnian writer Dzevad Karahasan, who now lives in Austria , have organised a literature meeting with readings.
