Sarajevo Film Festival has developed into the most significant cultural event of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the biggest film festival in South-East Europe . The festival (which attracted more than 100,000 visitors in 2006) was begun 12 years ago during the bitter siege of the city.
With its focus on the latest regional film production, both long and short feature films, documentaries and tributes to renowned regional filmmakers, the Festival represents the most important meeting point for all the filmmakers of the region, and the focal point for networking and learning about the possibilities that the region can offer.
The movies, including a great selection of world cinematography and children's programme, are divided into several programs and are featured at different locations in Sarajevo.
