Bascarsija Nights

1 - 31 July 2008

“The Nights of Bascarsija” is the biggest summer cultural festival in Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina . Every year, for the whole month of July, performances are held on the central stage opposite to the Town Hall and many open air stages in the old part of the city. With rich programme, attractive locations and free entrance, the festival always attracts a great number of visitors. 

The festival's programme varies from opera and ballet performances to plays, rock concerts, evenings of traditional love songs, art exhibitions, literary evenings, children's programme, concerts of classical music and movie screenings.

“The Nights of Bascarsija” traditionally begin on July 1st, with “The Viennese Concert” performed by Sarajevo Symphony Orchestra and a guest conductor from Vienna.
